Trentino-Alto Adige is one of the best vacation spots for Italians. The region is known for its great skiing resorts. The number one ski resort in Italy is Madonna di Campiglio, a small town in Trentino.  The Dolomites, a section of the Alps, offer endless opportunities to experience the beauty of this region. The snow capped mountains are home to various forms of wildlife. Here you will find some of the last remaining European black bears. There are numerous trails that lead to beautiful waterfalls and glaciers. There are many beautiful lakes even though Trentino-Alto Adige is the one of the only regions not touching the sea.

The wealthy of Trentino-Alto Adige had a fascination with castles over the centuries. They can be found in many places and most are in good condition.
